      Northumbria Hang-gliding and Paragliding Club

      Welcome

The Northumbria Hang-Gliding and Paragliding Club is a small, but dedicated club consisting of pilots from Newcastle-upon-Tyne and surrounding areas of Durham and Northumberland. We have a good number of excellent, uncrowded sites covering most wind directions situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Cheviots and North Pennines. Visiting pilots are most welcome but please contact the club first.

Better still, come along to one of our club meetings for a beer and a chat, everyone welcome. We meet the first wednesday of every month at the Corner House, Heaton Road, Heaton, Newcastle, Tyne & Wear NE6 5RP at 7.30pm.

If you wish to join the club a form can be found HERE

***Please be aware the car park now has Parking Eye style cameras, please ensure you log your reg at the bar***

HUMBLETON HILL - LAMBING INTRODUCED - NO FLY LATE MARCH UNTIL MID MAY
We have been instructed not to fly at Humbleton during Late March, April, until mid May. due to lambing. This is a very important site. When flying outside of these dates we should try to limit the number of cars parking here. It is suggested that when parking at Humbleton we have a max of 3-4 cars parked at the top, before the gate. After this, please park further down, near the T-junction in the nearby village. Dates and info can be found in the Sites Guide

      IMPORTANT RADAR MAST (Hartside)
      RESTRICTED AREA EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

The club has received a request from the Landowner beneath the Radar Masts near Hartside that we do not use the shaded area in the image for Takeoffs and Landings. The Landowner is currently trying to establish itself with Natural England and would like to keep the area undisturbed. Please use good inflight planning when flying in the area, but safety comes first. If an emergency develops and you have to land in that field then do so and notify a sites officer when able.
