Wind talking stations.

Post by berow »

I have just returned from a weeks flying in Italy with FlyItaly. The paragliders out there have a system of devices on the top of each launch site which they call on their mobiles and it gives them wind direction, speed min and max & average.
When I quizzed him about it he says it is called SINT wind and the units were only 200-300 euros. They are self sufficient due to solar power.
I have attached the link so if any of you tech types can have a look it would be interesting to understand what is involved. Unfortunately it is an Italian site therefore we might need the help of an Italian speaker to help.
All the questions about where to site them etc can be parked until we have more information.

From what i can make out sint wind is the software/network used not the weather station itself.
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country
