big flights in the south yesterday on HG

Post by gary stenhouse »

Neville almond had to spiral down from 5000 after motion sickness set in as he would of cleared 300k others done 266k and lots of others all on rigid wings and flex wings. the days of a 100k are no longer a big deal it seems yet in the north it is often a impossible task

Its more to do with land mass in the north Gary and don't forget there has big xc's with HG & PG records set in Scotland with out & returns & triangles..

Flying XC's down wind was everything in the 80's now is more about out & returns and trangles.
Maximise your time & dosh do both Hanggliding & Paragliding :)

Neville said he will only do one or two downwinders and mainly do circuit flights. However he has plans to do a 400k flight in the UK so will be interesting to see. I am still hopefull we will do the 100 mile out of the Cheviots or sumo side this year.

Where did you find out about Nev's flight? It's not on the UKNXC league.
