To the pilots who flew out of Milfield Airfield.
I read about a pilot a long time ago
who is on this roll of honour,
Sgt. A.V. Jones from Scotland.
He flew a Spitfire out of Milfield, spun in to the ground off a steep turn and crashed at Roseden Farm Wooler just off the A697.
He is buried at Kirknewton churchyard.
29. Nov. 1943.
