Bridge closed heading north out of Powburd till Tuesday 14th Dec

Diversion through Old Berwick

Thats good news didn't fancy using the old ford in Ingram valley with all this snow melting..

How did you end up there after driving up the A1 ?

Needed petrol so pulled off at Alnwick then just headed across to take our chances on the diversion round old Berwick but when we got to pianism there was no signs - road open
it's a fine line between heaven and here

We just drove miles round to & from another day snow kiting Cheviots

The Bridge was closed Friday morning and traffic highway said it would be closed till Tuesday... but very pleased its open now.

If closed again ! best way to Wooler is - A1 to Alnwick take the Eglingham road to old Bewick then Wooperton to the A697 (quite a bit of this road is straight)

I use this route if the A697 is busy.
