Greetingsfrom Brazil!

Post by AlastairW »

One week down, and just six more flying das left.

The conditions here are completely diferent from South Africa. The thermals are much weaker and broken, and it is either nill wind, or on a ouple of days a head wind. In fact one day the headwind was so strong we did a 40k out and return flight.

Yesterday was fun. To up the pressure a little Jocky set a comp, with race to goal at Engineero Caldos, nearly 40k from launch.

ANd to make it a little mre inte5rsting, everyone who tok part threw 10 Real into the hat. About £3.

I made goal on a death glide, arriving with 200ft to spare, and beat the next guy by 18 seconds, after 2 hours flying!

SO far I have had nearly 12 hours flying, and am totally knackered. The heat is energy sapping, as it is also very humid, and in the high 30s. I may even take a day of tomorrow.

But it is now Friday night, and we are just of to see how Brazilians party!
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........
