The week ahead.......

Post by gordie »

O.k. met lesson.

Firstly check this out:

http://meteonet.nl/aktueel/brackall.htm

Right taken that in? Well we have an unstable air mass which has frontal activity but luckily they will all pass us at night! During the day there will be lots of thermal filled air everywhere with good winds for good x.c.

Although summer seems to have past us by this could be the week we have all been waiting for. Certainly if we had all been baking under a large anti-cyclone for the last few weeks this forecast would have us peeing our pants

Happy flying one and all and looking forward to lots of tales of daring do.

Hi Mate

I admire your optimism, but my gut feeling is that it's going to be windy! And wet!

There may be some flying, but low base and dodging the showers isn't going to make it "the week we've been waiting for"!

Sorry!

Not such a good forcast for a lot of pilots

Post by ron freeman »

Forcast does look quite good for good height gains and XC if this is what you are into.... low airtime pilots take care :o

Fly early morning or late evening break yourself in gradually instead of scaring yourself sh.tless !

Happy safe flips

Still looking like a great week and from Wednesday onwards looks 'classic'

Steve you've let all that sun go to your head in France mate and presumable think the weather will be bad if its not a great big high. Last week mate I had nearly ten good hours flying with 'dodgy looking' low pressure weather. Just a case of choosing your moment and making the most of it. I think you might have some good days off this week mate.

Hi Mate

I didn't argue that they'd be no flying, I just think that this isn't the week I've been waiting for!

Sunday and monday are rubbish!

Plus good from Wed onwards would make it the good half week we've been waiting for!

Maybe all that french sun has gone to my head, but I think your imminent arrival is going to yours!

Sunday rubbish?

Nearly a full days teaching and you could of flown at Bewaldeth all day if you wished, how can this be rubbish? This was one of my most successful Sundays of the year so far!

You need to get out of your shop more before judging the weather from behind your desk mate :P

Now now boys......... cant you use your own forum for arguments????

:D :D :D :D

You can tell the weather is crap.

Things are so bad that People consider it to be a good day when they can just get their wing out of the bag.....

Geoff Wilson was talking about flying at Horden last week...... "I at least got a beat in" were his words....

10 seconds maybe?

And that was the best that the seven of us stood on cross fell in the rain last friday could come up with.
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

Nice wee flight on Latrigg at lunch time with my Bobcat. Wind was not to bad, should of taken the paraglider really as could only just stay up on the speed wing. Blease looked good all morning with oragraphic cloud just touching the top in a 15 mph southerly wind. Spitting a bit of rain now but may try again later.

Another flyable day...... "My glass is defiantly half full at the moment" and hopefully will get fuller as the week progresses :)

well im thinking of just building an ark as i think i have more chance of using that than my pg. though i could say i had 4 soaring flights yesterday on 3 different wings. the bobcat i am sure will prove very exiting once you get the hang of it. some interesting flying yesterday, i think i am getting too sensible or downright soft

cheers gary
