NOTAMS

Post by colin keightley »

Just been to FR Aviation at Teesside for a Tour and it was mentioned about the increasing dificulty of avoiding notamed areas and said that they do low level work at weekends also and have ocassionaly found themselves in a situtation where gliders are not seen till the last second.
These aircraft when they are working with the RAF when they go low level they go fast they fly with a clearance for 500ft agl unlike military aircraft if you NOTAM a site they will avoid that area.

The long and short of it is I been asked to ask you lot to NOTAM on a weekend also PLEASE. Especially North edge of North Yorkshire Moors as they enter there low and fast.

I will add he did say the sailplanes were the main problem.
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country

If you ever want an up close and personal with any of the heavy metal, just post a NOTAM at Moneylaws.
Guaranteed they will come around.
Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
Just pee on it and walk away.

FR Aviation are a Civilian operation so when they are low and fast they will avoid NOTAMed sites. The Military is different a NOTAM to them is just to tell them there is ariel activity in that area.
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country
