after landing my hangglider yesterday i had chance to watch and worry about some of the flying decisions made.
the conditions were westerly aprox 15mph which is fine but i was watching a pilot flying right into the very back of the gully between manit edge and high cap. he was strugling for lift as he was in the lee of manit edge. he eventualy ended up laandad or got pinned and andlandad.
he got away with it but be sure it was not a good place to be for safety or lift. it would of been fine if you are well above both but not when you are low. other than that what a day on the hg it was amazing how fast they our on full vb and bar whow, i though andrew was getting dragged backwards at one point.
as for today lunch time onwards could be coastal as it should stop raining.

NOTAM ?
Was the pilot aware Gary that he was taking chances.. if there was a club coach on site thing like this need to be discussed before anyone flies, if this is not possible most defiantly afterwards.
Did anyone NOTAM before flying midweek ?

No problems getting around yesterday and certainly no draggings. As with any days flying it was important to keep an eye on the windspeed and not go too far back with thermals. Cumbrian guys had some very nice flights from millers leap to the far end of wild boar scar and back again!
