Cracking Day at Tailbridge

Post by RonDon »

Big big turn-out of NHPC members, 12+. Standing wave with weak thermal which gave us great flying.

Interesting mix of wings performance-wise and there was over 3hrs flying to be had. (F) (ninja) (F)

When we landed we went to the local village Nateby to have a small sherry to see the New Year in. A smashing Pub that Wendy and Colin discovered, it has a restaurant at the back, and is the first Pub you come to when comeing down the hill from Tailbridge.

We could be flying on the East Coast one day this week, a good way to get off to the New Year.

A Happy new year to everyone. (F) (dance) (F)

PS Photographs are on the board.

It's hard to believe the difference a few miles make on this Pennine ridge :x Cross Fell cleared but there was little or no wind on the top of High Cap. Gary had a top to bottom and a some paragliders had a flight but nowhere near soarable. There was a canny turn out here too so maybe good for you lot that flew we didn't all come down and make it too busy :x :x :x

Alastair Wolf turned back because of the poor weather en route to Tail Bridge I nearly turned back at Hartside as you couldn't see a hand in front of you.

Roll on some proper weather :x :x :x

Try and put some more photos on the forum I'm not totally sick of seeing you lot soaring yet :x :x

Should have followed Ron Dons advice...... "once you have set of never turn back"

But I did have to be home for 2:30, and it looks like the majority of flying was later on......

ho hum
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........
