Excellent Service From The Sick and the Wrong Keswick

Post by John Wallis »

Now that I have your attention I would just like to give credit where credit is due.

After returning from Turkey and the SIV I found myself on Cross Fell with the hang glider this time. Only the vario (Flytec 5020) to strap on and I was off. Trouble was the vario for some reason was stone dead. I changed over the batteries from the Mad Dogs but still it was dead. I returned home and removed the seals that covers the screws that invalidates your warranty  to see if I could see the problem. I was aghast to find one of the batteries had leaked into the circuitry and rotted the wiring

I sent it off to Steve Giles (Sick and the Wrong Keswick) He then sent it off to to Flytec to be checked out. I waited to hear the news my unit was knackered :x

After a couple of weeks I rang him for a progress report. ........It's knackered.......B*****ks thinking to myself that was a lot of bloody money only a month or so ago. The fact that the batteries I had fitted had nothing to do with Flytec and as such had no warranty claim. Even more (headbang)

Then the magical words came out of the phone......Flytec are going to replace your unit F.O.C. (party) This I couldn't believe and to be honest I still didn't until I collected the instrument from Keswick today.

But it was true! A very small postage fee and a brand new vario. One very very very happy customer, and a Flytec man for life now!

The highest of service in deed from Flytec and the Sick and the Wrong.

Thanks Steve

John, good to hear a happy outcome, but your large heading at the top of your post will stick in members minds and it won't do the Sick and the Wrong no favours...best take it off.

And no one will believe you about all those fantastic XCs you've done because you didn't have an igc trace, what a shame! (chuckle)

So I guess if santa is going to be good to me, I'd best got to Steve then?
See you out there!!!!!
