Rutherford and I took a gamble and went down to the Model Ridge today knowing there was a slim chance to fly. When we got there it was about 24 mph perfect for hang gliding but I don't need hang gliding airtime. A bacon sarnie and a cup of tea later we came out hoping to do a bit of ground handling to kill some time but the wind had picked up to around 30 mph. There was a plonker on the edge with a paraglider and we went to watch. Up came the canopy and back he went at an alarming rate of speed had there been any rocks on the ground he would have been in the "opital"

The wind had a bit of east in it so we went to Marske where it was still very fresh. Totally pissed off and sick we ended up playing golf at Matfen. A called half way around the course from Maltby saying Watson had been to Wolf crags and had a great day...I hope it was a wind up.

Sorry to upset you even further, but I was flying back of Clough today, watching probably Wato on Wolf. Wonderful, buoyant conditions 1-2 hours  Just back, thought I'd just let you know (smirk) (chuckle)

Way to go Jan. (clap)

I wish i didn't have a job through the summer so I could get some flying in, with the SIV coming up very rapidly.................

Never seen him before Mike but he didn't appear to be a novice. He was flying a blue Nova. He wasn't even down the front of the hill he was standing on the top away from the edge. I can't see what good naming and shaming will do it's his decision to fly or not.

Doesn't anyone work anymore :x :x

How do I join this club? :)

I am sick as a parrot, down south east (working). Wind is gale force, skies are grey - I didn't want to know it is flyable up in the Lakes.

Never mind, the weather looks good for the weekend - Grasmere show etc - oops shouldn't have said that, Sod's Law will kick in.

Grumpy too far south

(Hope the quote thing worked)

Anyway.. Hopefully he'll learn from friendly advice stopping him risking his life. Maybe from a coach.. Shame on you guys

I did put my Coaches hat on as it happened and suggested to him that it was a tadge breezy. That's about as far as I would go with someone I don't know on one of their own sites. I'm not into putting the SS uniform and Jack boots on and telling pilots what they can and can't do.
