Wendy was giving SW at around 11:30 this morning so tootled off to Captain Cooks. Spot on the hill, peaking at around 14 - 16 mph but very, very gusty. Only Pete Bennett (ex-fireman) from NYSC was there, and he'd landed due to the conditions.

Waited for about 30 mins for some dark, dodgy looking clouds to clear before taking off. Pete made the very sensible decision to fly down to the car park, while I flew out and tried to make the best of the conditions.

Horrible, horrible flight (puke) only 10 minutes long, and at least 9 of those were spent wanting to get down!! Lots of lift and sink all over the place, very turbulent and generally unpleasant all round. Got about 200ft above TO only to be dumped down below the edge and looking to slope land within a few seconds. Then, straight back up again. Rest of the flight was like that - up and down like a whore's drawers (mooning)

Never been so glad to get down... (whew)
