Impressive paramotoring....

Post by Dave Hume »

Just heard that British Paramotor pilot Bear Grylls, has succeeded in flying a paramotor over Everest reaching 29,500 feet.....

Another record I just read about though it took place last year. A Russian paramotor pilot flew 770km non stop taking 10 hours, equivalent to flying London to Inverness. Apparently he carried 60 litres of fuel and needed three helpers to get him to his feet. He then took 100 metres to launch at an all up weight of 235kg. That's a 100 metre sprint with 150 kilos on his back!!!

Amazing stuff.

Typical Hang Glider Pilot!! Behind the times!! (Joke!!)

The distance record for a Paramotor was broken a couple of weeks ago as below:-

Ramon Morillas has flown a staggering non stop flight from Cadiz on the
southern coast of Spain to Famara beach on Lanzarote This is an amazing
flight on his PAP Ros powered paramotor and smashes his previous best
distance record of 950km. The distance was 1,101km. Ramon was hoping to fly to Tenerife but due to slower than forecast tailwinds he was running short on light and decided to land whilst it was light rather than push onto
Tenerife and have to land in the dark.

As for Everest see my previous post here:-

Do try and keep up Dave!!

P.S. That reminds me Gary how far is it from Blyth to Norway!!!

Sorry Mike, promise to try harder.

Wow, Spain to Lanzarote on a paramotor, how far over water is that? Seriously nutty.......

The original guy I mentioned I was quite impressed with his ability to do a 100 metre dash carrying paramotor + 60 litres of fuel. So how much fuel did this guy carry? Was it still foot launched and not one of those little trike things?

Aren't you limited over here to 10 litres of fuel or something like that? With a good tailwind I guess you could still get to the south coast though....
