XC Pilots using the dales this may interest you it would seem everyone is jumping on the band wagon of expanding their controlled airspace

This is a very important issue for our sport -now and for the future. Most people will dip their toe into XC at some stage and many have already had the wonderful experience of leaving the dales or peaks on the exact routings that are pretty much going to be blocked by these changes.

Airports like Leeds were never envisaged to handle the level of traffic that they do now and I know that there is barely enough parking for the number of aircraft that overnight there these days. The airspace around it was set up long before today's level's of a/c movements and as such the aim of the new proposals is to protect current and future commercial traffic.

What we see here is just a proposal at this stage. We ALL have a stake in this and what the Dales guys are saying about all clubs banding together to make ourselves heard is vital. I understand the committee has already been informed, so let's get ourselves more informed and lend our full support to the negotiations.
