Annecy and beyond
Well quite stable day with big inversions at 1800m managed a 40-50k triangle to beyond grand binard and back very tricky with strong northerly for alps. 4 hours plus but made it back with tom Payne. Neil had good fly about but decided to stay around annecy and try harnesses

well we made it back in one piece with probable the most demanding stressfull flights I have ever done, at the same time the most rewarding.
for the alps low base high pressure strong wind no clouds and high sirrus mad a part themal ridge soar around mainly 2000 m plus mountains narrow valleys and interesting walk outs. but to set off in a big group of world pilots only me and tom Payne made it back so very rewarding. after forgetting my radio neil said tome was so glad when I turned around after multiple times trying to get up in a hammerhead valley with headwind treas etc. however eventualy got the climb to jump back into grand bonard where we did not think it was possible to get back. tom was on en C so made it easier on some of the glides on the M6 but maybe more stressfull at the unknown landing options.
all and all fantastic break with neil with some even better nights of food and wne. neil even getting a flight in at the saleve looking onto Geneva what a view to the alps from there also.
cheers gary
