Thank you

Post by Graeme »

First chance I've had to say thank you to all at east hill on Saturday! In my run up to CP I've done many flights in the Yorkshire dales and been to Algo 3 times in the space of year but it was still a big step for me flying locally and independently (without a dummy in my mouth ie under radio direction) and just want to show my appreciation to Angus, Eddie, Graham and co for making me feel so welcome. Cheers.

Angus will get those phonies to you ASAP been really busy at work this week.

No worries Graeme, you did great flying on East Hill with so many others in the air.
It was great to see you turn up & take off without all the waiting around like the rest of us. 8)
It's good practice to have a radio with you (I know you've got some on order) just in case things go wrong without you realising. On a few occasions with myself it's been very handy when I hadn't noticed everyone else was heading down because of wind increase, it's at least another pair of eyes.
I'll see you at the meeting tonight if you can make it.

Hi Angus does your vario / alti have GPS on it? If so it will tell you your ground speed which is invaluable if the wind is picking up.

My vario is non-GPS, but I decided as there were so many people up that I was going to fly without instruments so there were less distractions. I'm glad I didn't have it because I might have thought twice about coming in to land. I was the crash test dummy for landing.
