Yes a lovely weekend.
Some great flying by Gary saw him getting good rewards for his efforts. My turn again next time!
If he'd been a real mate though, he'd have carried my heavy kit up Clough to save my poor ankle. But I'm hard, I managed and I managed the walk from Lattrig to Threlkeld and The Kings Head to Clough and I'm at work today. But I must admit that I'm sitting with the foot up, plenty iboprofen and no shoe
When I landed at Lattrig I tried to keep the glider flying by running with it and turned my ankle. I thought it was broken at the time, probably only saved by a very good pair of mountain boots. I lay on the ground pleading with the wing to stay still as it teased me trying to reinflate. I eventually got it under control, bundled it under me, unclipped and rolled out of the harness. I layed there for a while watching Gary thermal his way from a low save across the Bathenswaite valley. Eventually managed to pluck up the courage to weight bare, pack the wing and hobble to the road for a pick up from Ron Don.
Result, one big black pudding of a foot! Worse still!!!!!! John had to carry his own kit up Clough on Sunday, I could only manage the one trip. Think I might try a little cold water on it tonight,,,,,,,well the surf is only small!
