Camping in/around Annecy

Post by DaveB »

Hi All,
A while since I've posted on here but you're always loaded with info so I'm here to ask for advice.

I'm thinking of a family holiday to Annecy next year (unfortunately this years holidays are already in the past).
Does anyone have recommendations for good campsites, kids activities, flying schools/guides.
I believe one camp site has a landing field next to it???

Not sure whether to fly or drive. Any experiences??
Got all our own camping gear but obviously a long drive, have done a few KeyCamp holidays in the past. Is there anything similar to them around Annecy??

Look fwd to your replies,
Cheers

Cannot comment on camping, but the drive/fly debate depends on how long you are going for.
1 week flying is best, 3 weeks driving usually works out, 2 weeks is difficult!

Advance, Nova, Gin, Airwave, Ozone, Flytec, Sup Air, Woody Valley, Kortel..............................the list is endless!

Dave we've camped at Simon le Vertier within walking distance of Doussard landing field for the main take off at Annecy (Col de Forclaz) for the last few years. Give me a bell I'll give you the gen. on flying their and other activities.
You'll love it :)
Feel the fear and do it anyway!

Faye, some mates and I are taking Lilyrose to Annecy in a couple of weeks. We were initially going to take all our own camping stuff to keep down costs but recently found a camp site that offered good deals on pre-erected big tents with proper beds and a fridge....etc.
The cost came to 750 quid for four adults and the baby, but this included the ferry crossing!

i'll see if I can dig out the name and url of the company.
