Hello one and all, the Southern contingent of NHPC checking in!
With a flat computer battery.....
Stonking hot here, 118f on take off today..... we nearly passed out.
Heavily inverted today, so nothing epic, but I have uploaded a couple of tasters from the previous days.....
Life is good!

Just back from another epic days flying. Even hotter today, and Neil managed to miss the climb from take off and landed out in a ravine, with temperatures well over 100 degrees f.
By the time he was retrieved, he was semi delirious and talking garbled nonsense..... so nothing new there!
Anto and myself took of together and got a screamer from take off at 1500ft, climbing all the way to 8500ft, with Anto having a bit of a "ding dong" halway up the climb.......
Anto says it was tyhe roughest air he has ever been in.
We set of in pursuit of Jocky, and the lead gaggle, catching them about 15k from t/o, and then had a cracking flight across the valley, flying together as a group of four gliders. Brilliant!
Tony followed behind, but was also syffering from the heat, and decided to land at about 30k.
Jocky and I carried on, and I eventually landed at 60k, Jocky landing just short of that. Anto bombed out at Porterville, about 40k.
Tomorrow is again forecast to be red hot, so a trip into Capetown to fly Lionshead and Table Mountain is planned.
Enjoy the cool British winter!

60K Well done Alastair!
We got as far as Middleton in Teesdale before a call from Gary diverted us towards Alston and Cross fell where the cold air from the fells put an easterly element into the direction. We did have a look at Flying Hartside but it was so cold our brains froze, it was too windy anyway.
Give Neil plenty of liquid (Red and 15%) and he'll be fine.
Enjoy yer hols.
