sorry colin but once a flight has been broken as a result of the competino stopping in flight there is no way of rejoining to make 1 flight. what you have to do in the nxl is to work out your flight manualy then submit both igc that our 1 flight for verification. if you want me to try for you send the igc files to me and i will have a look

In future switcg off the auto record and trim your flights down to take off - land in GPSDump before submitting.

My Flytec 5020 has stopped mid flight several times.
Once during the LCC comp - I could have won by miles otherwise!!!

So thanks Misk I will turn off auto record and see if that fixes it.

Otherwise, Flytec can have it back - I believe there was a faulty batch.

Isn't Competino the European version of the Flytec?

Yes Lance - in auto it will swich off if it decides you have 'stopped' either vertically or horazontally. I fly with it in manual and have to edit tracklogs in GPSDump before submitting.

My Compeo never broke a flight - is that because it's a bigger device with a pitot tube sticking out, or because a HG doesn't really stay at the same coordinates for ages

your right sergey it will not happen on a hg unless it is blowing 40mph and if it is the last think you will need to worry about is your final trace or black box

you can join them together in microsoft excel. you delete the end of the first file then the front of the second file. then copy the 2nd file and past it onto the end of the 1st . save file and post to xc league. or email them to me and ill do it when im back from tunisia.

It works - thanks for the tip Neil.
I have successfully 'joined up' the recordings of a recent 'split' flight on Carrock.
Very simple to do - I used Notepad to edit rather than Excel.

Now I'm considering joining up all my flights for this year - that should add up to an massive extra 2 OLC points! :)

Goodness knows what else you can do if you tamper with the codes.

Does the joined flight have a valid digital signature? K-record, whatever it's called?

No idea Sergey - this is the flight:-
http://www.nhpc.org.uk/nhpc/modules.php ... ghtID=3438

I have also attached the joined up .igc file.

The 5020 'stopped' after 12 minutes with the vario sound continuous alerting me to the problem. I pushed the Esc button once and it started the 'new' flight.

The Flychart program does not recognise the joined up flight - I suppose it uses the corresponding .olc file which is unfathomable to me.

My Compeo's track memory got currupted once, when it ran out of battery in-flight.

After that, the device was switching itself off after a minute or two of flying, with a warning sound. Next XC I flew by feeling the Force!

Compeo was cured by erasing tracklog memory, as Brauninger engineer recommended. You may want/have to do something similar to your 5020 if it misbehaves.
