Post by Wendy Patterson »

Me, colin and bill scott off to Alicante on a flying holiday anyone is welcome to come along and join us.
We are flying out on wed 15thoct to 22nd oct to join up with the fly guide services of Nick at doyouwanna. The level of service provided by them is fantastic, with accom, car hire and retrieval service on hand it makes it a stress free flying trip for any level of pilot.
Nick is always enthusiastic and has good local knowlage to get you to the best flying site on the day and is very switched on to peoples level of abitilty. Check out their web site for details or speak to col me or bill as we have been there before. If anyone intereasted let me know as we will be confirming shortly, if there is more than 6 we may get 10% discount.
Flights to alicante are around £120 at the mo.

Lets make this a great nhpc trip we could even managed bbq!!!! I'll provide some free beer :o

Count me in! Fits in perfectly with my days off. Could you let me know timings etc so I can start booking flights etc.

As you say this could be the club trip we've all been talking about for so long!

Hi All,
Easyjet has a sale on until midnight Tuesday for flights. There is 20% off until then. Current price for cheapest flights is £105 with one bag. Or £120 for more expensive flying time on 15th.

Hi Wendy

How much does the accomodation usually work out at? Is it self catering or B & B?

Are the flying sights friendly? I could quite fancy it with all the crap weather we have had :)

The package with shared self catering accomadation, car hire and guiding service is 350Euro pw.
Most of the sites are friendly with a few exceptions which would only be used if the weather made it impossible to fly any where else, and there is never any pressure to fly if you don't feel confidant. Colin and I have flown most of the sites in the area with no problem. Nick will make sure you have been thoughly briefed on take offs, landing areas and approaches, and no fly areas Nick will always guide with the ablillity and saftey of his guests in mind.
Check out the Douyouwanna.net website for anything I may have missed.

hi jill i have flown quite a lot of the sites now out there and i would say they are safe, there is sometimes you have to be aware of landing options but nick will always give a good breifing. they are not great xc sites though are better at this time but they are generaly just good airtime sites with lots of thermaling and fun flying the way nick likes

Sounds great Wendy

Looks like there's a quite a few going already.

I'd be on for it if there are still any free places? Do you know or should I get in touch with Doyouwanna?

So far I have confirmed with Doyouwanna that there will be 7 of us arriving on the 15th oct for a week. These are the people who have confirmed their flights are booked which are:-

Myself
colin chapman
bill scott
Ron Don
Jim B
Andrew Maltby
John Miller
Liam Howley

I have also asked what the max group of people allowed. This is 15 spaces so if any one else wants to come, up to now it doesn't seam to be a problem. Book your flights and let me know soon, as they may get group bookings from elsewhere x
