Sunderland airshow - notams

Post by dave-mclaughlin »

After all the recent talk about notams, and a local TV news story about the Sunderland Air show this weekend, I thought I'd go and look at the notams for the event.
Trouble is, I cannot find any! I'm almost sure there must be something, so I guess I'm not looking properly.
I've signed onto the NATS-AIS webpage, and had good look around, but cannot find any mention.

There's a chance of some flying on the coast on Saturday, with north easterlies forecast, but I don't want to wrap myself around the pointy end of a eurofighter!!

Can some kind soul point me in the right direction?

It's also the East fortune air show so you tend to get a lot of traffic between the two shows.
Might be worth going to East hill just to watch the Catalina pass by :)
Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
Just pee on it and walk away.

See belwo for NOTAMS refering to Sunderland airshow. As well as the East Fortune Airshow that Bob mentioned there's also an airshow at Windermere and it looks like the same aircraft are displaying at each one. So there are going to be lots of transiting aircraft in the open airspace in-between.

The NATS-AIS pages are notoriously un-user friendly, yet it's still our reponsibility to find out! Not easy. I put in a route briefing for Newcastle airport to Durham Tees Valley and still had to scroll through a huge list of trivial irrelevant stuff to get the right ones.

Thanks Dave, I've now found the notams.
After reading a bit more carefully, it seems the webpage defaults to reporting the next 12 hours only. So, if you look too soon, you don't find anything.
