Model Ridge.... an epic day.

First of all many thanks to Neil and Ali, who made the ultimate sacrifice to the weather gods yesterday, by leaving Model to drive up to Moneylaws, as Gary was already flying there, and it was starting to rain at Model......


Actually, I came pretty close to throwing in the towel, having turned up to find nil wind, and a gloomy grey sky with obvious signs of rain out in front.

But we sat and drank coffee.

Saw a couple of gliders maintaining.

Walked back to the ridge, and found a breeze........


And the day just got better from there!

Initially ridge soaring, then hopping over to Cringle, then playing hunt the thermal out in front of Cringle bowl.

A few wingovers, some tight turns, and a general feeling that it was great to be in the air having FUN!!!

Then home for tea.......

You sure know how to rub it in Mr Wolf, but i have to agree, what a

fantastic ending to the day big fat thermals until 7pm. thanks to Steve
