Marathon des Sables.....

Post by AlastairW »

Dont know if anyone managed to catch the programme on Sunday night on ITV4 about the Marathon des Sables, starring our very own Ali Guthrie!!

Ali had told me about this event in his own self effacing way, descibing it as "tough"....... but that does not do it justice!!

Much respect due to mr Guthrie.........
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

Hi Ali...WELL DONE...What a fantastic acheivement.

We had a drink on Sat night with Jamie....(HUGE Jamie) one of your running partners, he filled us in on the details...and how your banter kept him going :) ...

He says Hello.

Cheers for the support guys!
Seems that all that slogging up High Cap etc did have its benefits after all. Though the run was tough at times the crack amongst the Mencap team, who incidentally raised over £30000 for the charity, was great. Friendships were forged during the trip and promises made to try something tougher next time, any suggestions?

I was thinking more along the lines of the first person to prise a penny out of Miller's wallet.
