Lakes Charity Classic and 'Butt Bash'

Post by gordie »

Its that time of year again, to dust of your wing and dancing shoes and get yourself ‘up north’ for the greatest Paragliding gathering of the year, the annual Lakes Charity Classic and Buttermere Bash. Based in arguably the most beautiful place in England your Cumbria Soaring Club committee have been working tyrelessly through out the winter to provide you with the quality of experience that though's in the know have come to expect. This great event continues to evolve and we request your company to help turn this year into another huge success.

Following on from last years successful format, we will be based on the fields (this year we have two) on the shores of Buttermere. Camping will be available from Thursday 5th June, with the LCC comp starting on Friday morning. The huge bar will open on both Friday and Saturday evenings, as we will need all your help to drink our way through the 1700 pints of real ale and other various beverages we have coming, including our very own beer ‘Thirst Flight’ another first for the free flying world from us canny Cumbrian's.

On Saturday afternoon the field will naturally adopt its festival atmosphere, a great location for families and friends to chill out and relax. During the early evening the pace will be wound up as we prepare for the U.K. Acro Championships with the Helicopter transporting our brave pilots to a suitable take off location, high above the lake. This year we promise you on hell of a show with some of the worlds top pilots turning up…….. All I can say is watch this space.

After the acro pilots have done their thing or been dragged from the lake, we will rap up the LCC with the prize giving before cranking up the amps for a night filled with dancing and frivolity that only your hospitable Cumbrian's can provide.

This year’s event promises to be more successful then ever, but to make it happen we need you, your families and friends to come along and help make this happen. So please pack your tent, bring your beer money and let us put a smile on your face.

Please note: We will again do a huge barbeque on the Saturday evening at a cost of £5 per person. Places for this must be reserved in advance and then paid on the evening. Please to avoid any disappointment can you reserve places by e.mailing the following with all your requirements (veggie e.t.c) Paul Gannon: pag@telford-hart.com

Thank you for taking the time to read this, please pass the word round and I look forward to seeing you all in Buttermere.
