Pleased to see that everybody enjoyed themselves at the Model Ridge on Sunday….
Winners and losers, comes across to me, listening to what people say….
But isn’t every flying day just like this?
You could have done better, but somebody else drew out the winning ticket….
Let not your heart be troubled…..next week may be the week when that all elusive 100 miler comes your way…..Then instead of people saying….
“There goes the club retard”….they will be saying…
“There goes that 100 mile club retard”!
Nice XCs by Neil and Chris Foz though…..Well done…..
But I bet you that it still wasn’t far enough!
We….John Watson, Brian Day, Serge…where at Akeld, and had some really good flying….Jumping back and forward to the Bell, northwards, and Humbleton to the south……Serge was hang-gliding doing well, getting good heights and going out over Millfield….Watson got high and headed north, landing by the College Valley, and Brian got even higher and flew south over Wooler, landing in telly-tubby land on the outskirts of North Middleton…..Leaving poor old me as retrieve driver….
This is what happens when you’re a loser, though
Still, I’m always happy to take a back seat when I’m in the company of people whose walking boots I’m not fit to pull the laces up of…..
I mean…..If you can’t bring a little sunshine down the street of a superior cross country pilot like Brian day, by running about at his beck and call…..then what other purpose in life could you possibly have?

Your competitive spirit is only rivaled buy your ability to give the illusion of doffing ones cap John.
Ease your mind John, Brian IS the headmaster and I don't think you had much option in avoiding a meeting in the staff room. Only the likes of the most radical of free thinkers and down right scallywags would have the Gaul for such disobedience.
Its easy to look at such a couple of days where the sky was full of fluff, and the only fluff your interested in is carefully tended to by your good lady. Not to mention I am more interested in shooting these skies not shooting for them.
I am however missing the crack a little, just only a little, your all alright but I wouldnt want to move in with any of you. If your heading out on a sunny day and have a space on the bus I would be happy to tag along. However should you all go XC, I will also, and need picking up from the nearest pub.
PS dont expect petrol money, I aint that desperate for some crack, I am getting plenty of it here, just need to get out before theres more little foot steps on the way.

Everything in moderation, including moderation.
My eternal gratitude to you young sir!by running about at his beck and call….
I suppose that's a few of the Blease Fell brownie points used up then?
Master Sherpa will have to do some more carrying of the masters kit up untold mountains to regain the favours and comforts of the crushed back seat of your chariot!
See you out there!!!!!
