Garys gone and the whole club goes XC

Post by Neil »

May be we should all chip in and send him to disney land when he gets back. Or he could fly that new wing on a day like today and end up in never never land. Great days flying wendy and col are still on cloud 9. :D

as the saying goes "its never over till the fat lady sings" and hanging around and being persuaded to take off after 6 by neil led to me flopping 12k over the back and Wendy, Ali & Neil doin a nice Hasty run after their great day XCing. So maybe ill think twice before calling it a day next time.

All in all a cracking days flying at Model Ridge after what looked like an iffy day on arrival.

Yeah, a cracking day, but I was gutted that commitments with the band meant I had to be back early and couldn't go XC, otherwise I would have been straight over the back in the same thermal Wendy left with. I guess Rock n' Roll and flying don't mix.

Unusually conditions didn't favour either the paragliders or hang gliders, everybody seemed to have an equal share of it, though if you picked the wrong time it was a trip to the bottom field.

...and good to see so many Northumbrians out.
