Below are a couple of links from a 1/4 mil and 1/2 mil air chart the link is to the legend on the bottom of the chart. A good way to learn how to use these symbols is draw an imaginary line from one of our flying sites and check what airspace you go through by reading up on the legend. Don't even think about flying XC without checking what is well down wind of take off because you never know how far you might fly. With all this talk of transponders for gliders the last thing we need is hang or para pilots landing on the taxi way of an international airport. Tomorrow looks like a good XC day so take some time and check your charts and do some flight planning. If you haven't got a chart you can buy them on line or I can nip down to Newcastle aeroclub and buy a few if anyone wants one.

Don't forget
Don't forget if you are only CP rated and you get caught in airspace or danger areas... it will not help the BHPA fighting the case with the use of transponders !
The BHPA clearly state you should be Pilot rated before going XC.
The C.A.A. are looking for any airspace infringements as to fight there case for making us fly with transponders please don't be the one who gives them a strong case !!!
