Competition flying season

Post by Sad Northerner »

With the competition season about to open it may be worthwhile holding a quick competition workshop.
We couple look at types of tasks, tactics, scoring, deciphering task board information and equipment etc.

If anyone is interested I don't mind running this.

Cool!

Bring a pen, paper and some white electrician's tape, preferably the broad stuff.

Excellent idea Ali!

I will be there...... my electricians tape is silver though? Does it make a difference to how far i will fly??
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

I'm sure you mentioned help with the GPS setting up in your first post. I'd like to listen into that.

My guess is that this will have something to do with one of Ali's dubious pagan rituals, either that or, the white doesn't show up on the sheep, or it will match the colour of the nursery.
Any body got any other ideas?

Okay crew this is the rub...

meet at my place 7pm Friday the 9th May. You bring something to drink and some nibbles and your paragliding kit. We do the workshop. We analyse the weather for weekend and look at possible flying sites, their potential, hazards, limitations etc. We pick a site based on the best XC potential and head off as a group Sat morning. Any other issues/questions raised can be put on the agenda for the next meeting.

If there is any reason why I cannot do Friday i'll stick a message on the forum thursday 8th.

Cheers

Ali

PS Your all welcome to stop over (crash in the living room, set up a tent or just jump in with Faye and me).
