Hi,
I tried to post a message on your web site but needed passwords etc - could you please put the following on?
thanks
Andy Buchan

Many thanks to all those I met this weekend and on Thursday when flying at Horden - particularly to Alan and Colin from Easington. I had some great flights - 7hrs airtime at this time of year can not be bad.

I first flew this bit of coast back in 1980 from Blackhall on a Sunspot - but did not soar there until on 14/4/1981 when my log book shows ' blown backwards and top landed in prone - airtime 10 seconds'. Well I guess that counts as soaring? That was on a Midas E made by Chargus. A few days later I had an hour from Blackhall, and did a 360 degree turn!

At some time around then Ian Currer took pity on me and showed me how to fly - dual on a large Cyclone - again from Blackhall - so this piece of coastline is special to me.

Flying this weekend was very different to the 1980s. My current wing, an Aeros Discus, has so much more performance yet is easy to fly, take off and land. Compared with the earlier wings it's performance opens up where I can fly and widens the weather window I can soar in. Back in 1980 it was unimaginable that a hang glider could fly between Blackhall Rocks and Shippersea Bay - yet this weekend several were doing just that and even going further.

So thanks for the use of your site, and it was nice to meet so many people who enjoy their flying
