Transponder meeting Pocklington.... any feedback?

Post by AlastairW »

I know Ronnie and Mike went down to the meeting with the CAA at Pocklington.

Any feedback guys?
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

It was an excellent turn out from other clubs and the fact that we are the current National Club PG Champions (XC flying) we had only one member and one honorary member turn up ! the club should hold its head in shame...

The meeting was very interesting and we had a nice pint afterwards

To anyone who is bothered they have got now't to worry about it will not affect them for now, but you never know what is around the corner !

There are those that can continue to hold their heads up high, because they sent emails to the BHPA and CAA. The trip from the Alps was just one step too far to consider.
See you out there!!!!!

What was said about "mandatory transponder zones" Ron? These sounded like the only thing likely to affect hang gliding and paragliding as they could put these in virtually anywhere.

Thanks

Come to the next meeting Dave...

Too much information to write it all down, come to the next meeting Dave, maybe we will manage to bust the twenty mark out of 69 (aprox) FULL members with voting rights.

Most of the airspace will be above 10000ft asl ! unless you hit some good wave or decided to climb inside a big cumulus....if none of the latter you should be OK.
