Team Competition Entries

Post by brian day »

NHPC Team Competition.

If you wish to be entered for this completion please reply to the posting, email me or pm me and your name will be included in the team draw on 7th May 2008

The aim of the competition is to encourage new pilots to compete. Consequently the teams will be chosen to reflect a mix of ability, which will also make the competition closer.
• Teams will be made up of 4 pilots, either hang gliders or paragliders.
• Names for the teams will be drawn from 2 hats at the May meeting. One hat will contain the names of pilots wishing to compete who are experienced at competition. The other hat will contain the names of the pilots who wish to compete who have less experience. Two names will be drawn from each hat for a team
• Team members will choose a team name.
• The competition will take account of flights from 1st January 2008 until 31st October 2008
• Each pilot in the team will have their best 3 flights scored by OLC Km to count. Plus the team’s best flight from an NHPC site, scored OLC km. The team will have to nominate that flight.
• Competition standings will be kept up to date on a monthly basis and reported at the club meetings.
See you out there!!!!!

Come on you lot, lets see some enthusiasm, we've only got enough for one team at the moment.
It's just for fun and meant to help people on in their flying. I need some one to follow!

Starting to look a little better, at least we can have a first and second place now!
Come on you lot, lets get the entries in and have a good comp throughout the year, it's just the same as flying but with a little more help. No one is too good and no one isn't good enough.

Sitting here in France after a day skiing waist deep powder off piste all day,,,,I'm cream crackered, but I'm pleased to see that things are looking up for the team comp, despite wat Steve says. (I notice he was a keen competitor last year, perhaps a little scared of not being included in a good team this year?)

So looking now, we have;
The list so far;
John Wallis
Andrew Maltby
Chris Little
Jan Little
Brian Nellist
Brian Day
Lance
Ron Don
Dave McLaghlin
Alan Westmoreland

We still need at least 2 more to make up 3 teams, so do I have to drag the pilots that have been flying around here all day to make up the numbers?

I will be happy to put my name down just so long as the team fully understand that its all about having a darn good laugh, possibly getting pissed, making a nuisance of ones self and generally ridiculing with much gusto the other teams in any manner we deem fit.

Makes perfect sense to me especially ridiculing with much gusto the other teams in any manner we deem fit. Our team who ever they may be will have nice T shirts :P

You can put me and Claire down for the comp as long as we are on the same side and teamed up with someone who has a nice big 4x4.

I think there should be team captains and they then pick from the line up of scurvy dogs...... like the good old days of footy.... the crap player was always the last to be reluctantly picked.

Lets start the ridiculing off to a good early start, what say thee eh?

I've taken the results from last years OLC results (GB Flights) and put the 'players' in rank order, split the group in half to get the names for each hat. This does leave a couple of 'ringers' in one group.
If I've missed you out (Gary) don't get upset, just give me a kick up the arse for my incompetence (no that doesn't mean I need to wear a nappy)

Still places left if people want to join the fun!

And, as they say,,,,'In no particular order'

Hat 1

Ron Don
Gary Stenhouse
Andrew Maltby
Brian Day
John Mad Dog
Alan Westmoreland
Chris Little
Fingers Marshall
Kay Myerscough
John Wallis
Chris Foster
Dave Horne
Bill Scott
Alistair Wolf

Hat 2

Paul Smith
Jan Little
Dave McLaughlin
Andrew Billington
Clair Smith
Bob Sutherland
Lance
Eddie Davis
Brian Nellist
Wendy
Colin
Dave Hume
Henry Pearce
Colin Keightley

I think we should get Mr Wallis in his DJ to draw the names from the hat to give the proceedings the air of importance it deserves.
