Competition this and competition that,
BIG distance Thursday,
BIG BIG distance forecast,
9000 km out and return,
POST frontal Monday with an included backside,
EVEN BIGGER distance today,
100000 mile FIA triangle forcast today,
I MUST I MUST,,,... I MUST improve my bust.
GOT to get the miles in, I CAN DO IT DUFFY MOON!!!!.......

Well.?

Bollocks, there has been so much of the above crap on here to sicken the most harded of "I must improve my bust" ER. Such rubbish and frankly tedious boredom is running throughout this club like a cancer......

Remember why you fly........ for me its got nothing to do with racking up the kms....... nothing to do with that, AT ALL. Out on a weekend, hopefully on a beautiful sunny day with good company, and if you go home after nearly pissing your self laughing at least once, then the day has been a total success. If you also got some flying in, then that just ads the creame to the top.

Does the fisher man only enjoy himself if he goes home with a full catch.?

So I guess this maybe a plea, to reduce the crap banter about this distance and that distance as any new comer looking in will be forgiven for thinking you can only have fun if your racking up the theoretical miles.

Just remember your flying!! oh yes your flying, no strings, no pretending, no dreaming...... your flying like a bird.

Big step down from this soap box.

we have got to do lots of talking at the minute as there is little chance to go flying. so i guess lots off talking xc is nearly as good as doing it and lets be honest we all talk the talk but how many will walk the walk?

the main things is at least been out on the hill with at least a hope of flying and with the forecasts lately this has not been easy.

all hale for hangliding lately as without it there wold not been much flying for me

With the current weather Steve we can only dream, and when I dream it usually involves going over the back in a corking thermal as I haven't done that nearly enough. I have had plenty of days soaring the ridge with good crack in the pub afterwards which is great, but not nearly enough days when I end up in a field in the middle of nowhere, so at the moment that is my goal. On the seldom occasions where I have gone for it believe me there's no other feeling in the world like it.

So yes, you don't have to go for it but I think you'll find the most rewarding experiences are those where you push yourself that bit further.....
