Well with great pleasure the winter xc results for paragliding our as follows using OLC 3 turn point kilometres.
1st Neil Smith with 77.5km
2nd Brian Day with 71.4km
3rd Ron Donaldson 64.5km
Some respectable flying in some of the worst flying we have had in quite a number of years, so well done
Hangliding league has been slightly marred by the absence of Bob Southerland Mad dog and John Wallace all out due to injuries.
1st Alan Westmoreland 70.4km
2nd Gary Stenhouse 52.1km
3rd John Miller 31.1km
A special note for Ron Freemans flight at the coast, this was a defined flight, it would be nice to see Ron out on the hill more, to show his real skills in flying hanglider.
Let the real flying begin and lets hope the rest of the season brings out the best in all, remembering that we all fly for fun.
Cheers Gary

as we had gone down the root of olc to make it easier for everyone. after all alan had or at horden and marske
i did aswell xfell and horden so even if we had of done the x2 then alan still would have won. like most competitions if you dont get enogh flights in the person who flyes the most will have a better chance of winning, this does not always meen he is the best pilot but sometimes the most dedicated.
summer season go for it
cheers gary

Congratulations
Congratulations to Neil Smith, overall winter league winner and also to everyone else who contributed to the league by placing their name on the board thereby making the winter league more competitive.
Watching what others are doing and with GPS you can see how they managed their flights so this is a good incentive.
I would like to think that these winter flights on cold damp and sometimes miserable days have inspired others to have a go.
Big thanks to Fingers for creating the league pages and making this 'gift' possible for all to see at the click of a button.
I thinkOLC is the way to go for winter league and KM Open Distance for the summer.
Be happy, keep it real and see you all at the meeting.
