I was told today that an application has been submitted to build a Glider strip somewhere on the Cross fell range, I dont know where or even if it is true, but if it is what will the implications be,
NYSC manage to operate along side Carlton bank club without any problems, but we will have to find out who it is and where the plans are for and enter into some form of dialogue .
Hopefully if it turns out to be true there will be no problems for us .
If anyone knows anything more or can find out ,keep us informed on the website as I can`t get to the meetings, Cheers

As I understand it the glider strip is already there, it's a few miles out in front from high cap in the valley. When I was flying Cross Fell in November there were three sailplanes on the ridge with us and they didn't cause us any problems. I think it's a big enough ridge there shouldn't be any conflict problems.

I flew a couple of weekends with the sail planes, it does cause a certain amount of staining of the underwear when they appear round the corner of Man at Edge and there was some complaint about my screaming over the radio.
But the nice little chappies and chapesses in their fiberglass cocoons all waved back to me,,,,,that was good, it stopped me screaming, because I knew they could see me!
Hopefully we can live in harmony and they continue to wave back to me!
