Ron I am just taking it for granted that you had your GPS with you on Sunday for that flight down the cost.

[quote Time to start using the GPS ]
OLC scores count the dog legs, so give GPS users a bigger distance on paper.

from what i gather is is that the club was going to use the olc 3 turn point this is the same as the national xc league and the one they all use. but remember big brother is watching and if you land and walk around the point you might just get found out.

the summer is bases on open distance and if you do a good triangle or out and return then we will have to define the min distance and also will have to declare it as a or out of ridge lift or at least 75%.to get the multioliers

A change was proposed for the format of the club league.
New format;
Winter Comp; Jan 1st - March 31st to be scored on OLC points
Summer Comp; Jan 1st – November 30th to be scored on Open Distance Km
This will give pilots the ability to check their progress on the online league
The change was voted on; Majority for, Against Nil
Motion carried, although there was some concern showed by Ronnie Freeman.
This is what was voted on. Remember it's a club comp and meant to fun so let's not take this too seriously. All serious flights send to the NXCL

XC League...

Post by ron freeman »

Dave Hume, your XC flight will be logged no problem send me your grid ref - take off & turn point (I have a rough idea anyway)

If the club have decide on OLC scoring for winter & summer XC leagues this will mean we can only accept GPS entries :???:

So Dave seeing that the club has forced you into buying a GPS for Club XC entries I think the club should chip in and get you one...

How long were you Chairman...and a fine job at that. You also wrote the Club mag for how many years !!! come on the NHPC get the lad a GPS.

Happy flips
Maximise your time & dosh do both Hanggliding & Paragliding :)

People should edit with care also as some people have the same flight for crimdon on twice just badly editted so one starts 2 minutes after the other.

If you can do that ridge out and return in 2 mins Id love to know what wing your flying and where to get one (thats pointing at you fingers)

I can't be absolutely certain here Ron as I don't have the minutes, JW has stored them for us, but I'm pretty sure it was open distance for the summer
See you out there!!!!!

I'll post this again as some people seemed to have missed it. The above is cut from the club minutes. As Brian has stated OLC for winter and open distance KM for the summer. Dave I'm gonna buy you a GPS just to keep things simple

Totally agree Ron. Mind, as the increased interest in hang gliding makes it look like I won't be the last person in the club still flying a hang glider maybe I should just relish being the last person flying without a GPS. At least it'll make a change on the hill......instead of being continually asked when am I getting a paraglider I'll now be continually asked when am I getting a GPS?
