Interestingly enough when flying at St Bees yesterday Thursday 28 there was a pair kestrels hunting just on top of the cliffs and for all there where paragliders in the air just above them, They did not bolt away when we flew over the top of them “lovely”

Everyone who lives dies, yet not everyone who dies, has lived. We take these risks not to escape life, but to prevent life from escaping us ...
One of the nicest sights I've seen when paragliding - young sparrowhawks soaring the cliffs between Horden and Blackhall, playing in the wind and trying to catch grass stalks in their bills. Mum & dad keeping an eye on things, and spending their time slipstreaming the paragliders.
There was a Kestrel on Blease last time I flew there - just hovering alongside the ridge. I was scratching away, somtimes above, sometimes below - fantastic as he (she?) was hovering there for what must have been 5 minutes or more
The point - it wasn't the slightest bit bothered by me or the other activity on the slope
Doesn't beat the Griffon Vultures at Algo. Size of an alsation dog. Had one soaring with me 3ft off my wingtip. No doubt Kay, Paul et al will have tales of the Himalayan variety........
We often have a whole squadron of vultures flying with us at Targassonne , ask Martin and Michelle Armstrong , they had the pleasure last summer but only two vultures on that occaision .
See the vid a canny little flutter on the vids section .
