Calling all pilots.

As most of you should know, flying at Fairlie or the Campsies is usually not permissible, as they are in controlled airspace. We had a Letter of Agreement with Glasgow ATC which permitted flying in certain circumstances.

This was revoked last year, due to an Airprox report involving a Paraglider.

Since then we have been working quite hard to get this restored.

We were successful reasonably quickly for Fairlie, but regaining a L of A to allow flying at the Campsies again has proved much more time consuming and difficult, but not for the want of trying.

Ben J had negotiated well on our behalf, to the point where an email from ATC at the start of this week indicated the new L of A would be sent to me this week for signature, to operate from mid November.

It was therefore bitterly disappointing to open the next email from Glasgow ATC today, to find not a L of A to sign, but intimation of a complaint to Police Scotland of unauthorised PG flying at the Campsies on 8/10/15. What effect that will have on the the process I do not know, but obviously it makes PG pilots generally look far more like irresponsible pratts, who cannot to be trusted to obey either Airlaw or formal agreements.

To those responsible, thanks a bunch for jeopardising over a year of work and possibly losing Campsies permanently. If we are to retrieve the position, DO NOT FLY THE CAMPSIES until you hear that we have managed to get round the effect of this monumental stupidity.
