Careful where you put your karabiners.

While trying to keep the weight of my flying kit below 15Kg for the hold baggage limit on a recent flight, I decided to put some of it including karabiners into my cabin baggage.
When going through the X-ray machine at the airport, I was asked to open my bag. The 2 karabiners I had were confiscated. ( he thought they could be used as some kind of weapon )
Luckily it was on the return journey.
