wether fell taday and proper wave flying
well today had to be one of the most special flying day i have had to date.
started with light and scratchy with the wind coming down the hill yet people flying. then we got off when the wind was coming up the hill and me and brian get a nice thermal to the next minut we were above cloud, so started pushing out. next minute i was conecting to wave and going up in the smoothest of lift but backwards, so half and full bar were needed to stay forwardish. the next thing was you were 1000's of feet above the cloud with the most spectaculer views i have seen. some great pictures are coming out on facebook and me john neil and brian were all priveledged to of experienced this.
cheers gary

i got 3500 but base was only 2000 so felt so much higher some got to 4000 i think the hg got off as the wave came in but do not think they got any higher, did see one a long way out back and then i think they all had a good play about but i think the wave moved back out again, and the cloud came back down on the hill

Inspirational stuff reading about the wave flying, so much so I got the hang glider off it's perch, replaced the wing wires, checked the batten profiles and made sure no wildlife had taken up residence in the wing, now just the reserve to repack. The paragliding in wave reminded me of my Raleigh Runabout moped, not much speed range and 'light pedal assistance' needed on the hills (light if you were an Olympic standard athlete that is!). The hang glider more like my first decent bike capable of accelerating up hill. Ah well here's to standing clipped in holding the nose wires in the teeth of a howling gale
