Grasmere Show - everyone flew

Well I don't know what Chris Field sacrifices to the gods every year - but given the dire forecast this year, it must have been pretty special :D

Everyone got at least one flight in, some of us even managed to stay on our feet in the spot landing field, and the best height gain from launch was Brian Doub with 462ft ATO. Not bad for a "blown out and raining" day.

Watch some flying and some of the show here:

And some photos of flying here:

If you didn't show - you missed a cracking day (well, morning anyway :) )

452 ft ATO, but who's counting! I was just surprised by the 6 bottles of ale that I won, beats the wind sock by far. :D

Yes, it was really great to get a flight in. Rather alarming though, as I was following NHPC's Chris Little in to the landing area to hear he had pulled off a water landing :D Good to see such a good turnout.

Was on my way.. :)
When I got the call :???:
Rain stops play :(

Could'nt get away early enough from my mobile B & B duty in the van for Pauls C2C with his nephews !!

On a slightly different note..We camped behind The Fox in Ousby on Sat night. What a cracking spot for maybe an end of year NHPC gathering.
Our visit coincided with the end of season Horse race of all the local traveller community. At one stage when I looked out of the pub ..there was a horse looking in at every window, just tied up waiting for its owner to return (most riding bare back too)

Sorry I missed the fun at Grasmere..I'll get there one of these days
