you put a post on to see where the flow is going and you get nada, tommorow has prospects of a top day that a lot have been waiting for yet there is no replies.
the reason why it is good to know is the more on the hill higher chance of xc and the more on the hill hiogher chance of retreaive or at least drive your car home.
declared goal of holy island of 118k bold and ambitious but you never know

Gary
I was also thinking about heading out, my other half is not available but now looking at the updated mountain forecasts (Weatherline is predicting gusts of 30mph) I'm thinking it could be top end for me. Where did you finally decide on? Over the last few days I think we've had every hill in England mentioned.......... does that now mean you'll be heading to Scotland??

heading to cross fell at the monent though this may change but unlikely. will be taken the hg so winds should not be too much of a problem as planing on going early to be at cross fell for 10.30 11.00 got a car full at the moment though i will be able to squeeze a few in for up the hill
like you say i think with the convection around i think the wind will be a llot fresher than predicted so be early fly have a break or go xc and then fly late agian
cheers gary

Anyone who is flying at Cross Fell today please drive slowly and considerately when driving through the houses at Kirkland and especially slow where the track goes past the holiday cottages where the tarmac turns to gravel.

well sergey had a small xc but i must say it was a very rewarding one, as i was having to make desicions on what direction all the time as direct over the back was dead. almost done the cumrew run short by a couple of k. what enjoyed most was getting to base and making choices with the speed and glide, but jes there was lots of sink about and no ridge lift. checked my flight on see you and now i know why, 180 degrees wind direction.
landed on a small steep upslope and was joined by craig the gamekeeper full of the joys of spring and so impressed with how far i had flown what was funny he happend to say how he had probs with pg but not if they were high. he was in very good spirit much to my surprise and had no problem with people flying over cumrew if high.
got a full video but can not edit it as its 57minutes long due to my leaving it switched on after landing. but it is good to see how tricky the landscape is for landing a hg, but shows the even high performace wings can get in tricky areas.
cheers gary

Drivin back into our village, near Scorton N.Yorks, yesterday tea time and i come across Paolo and a mate walking along!! Had taken off from Parlick. They had another couple of mates who had landed a couple of miles away so we picked them up and dropped them all off at Scotch Corner where they were going to hitch back for cars and then a drive back to Aberdeen I believe!! Good effort there I rekon must have been about 80km.
Cheers

Grate flight Gary, that must be the first one to fly from x/fell and get to cumrew, Grate to see the video, it looks as if you could have gone farther to the north!
