Skiing for complete beginner.
Any advice on where to go. UK, Europe?
I have had lessons, so I can snowplough, turn, stop, etc.
Is weredale any good for beginners? Can you hire equipment?
Thanks,
Lloyd.

Pyrenees Ski and fly
Hi Lloyd , Udo here , Clear Skies Paragliding in the eastern Pyrenees.
Great conditions here . Skiing , you could ski and fly on alternate days if you wanted. We have a group comming out this weekend for a fly and ski week. The last few days we've been doing both. Major ski resorts 45 mins west of us and then where we are in the lower valley Nice flying.
Regards , Udo

Lloyd Weardale is no good for beginners in my opinion. The Pomma tow runs are quite rutted and uneven and a beginner would struggle. The lower run is short but "Would be OK" The upper run is uneven and steep in places so no good.
My favorite place in Europe is Zermatt in Switzerland. Loads of easy runs and loads more challenging. Fabulous scenery including The Matterhorn, the schools are great my children used them and had a great time. There's so many good areas in Europe to enjoy.

Lloyd, hi.
There are many many great places to ski in Europe BUT if you really want the best in service, customer care, excellent conditions, and pretty much guaranteed weather, then you really can't beat Colorado in the US. I would personnally recommend Steamboat Springs having been many times but beware - go once and you'll be drawn back over and over.......

Hi loyd lots of info and a bit of disifo too. Ive skied Allan heads but if you fancy skiing local then weardale takes some beating especially as it currently got the best conditions its had for the last twenty years.
The pomer can be a little tricky if they havent got round to flatening it off yet, but thats all part of the fun seeing how high you can get before you come off ! They dont do ski hire. Yad Moss and Harwood are worth a look at about 7 miles west of weardale. Please support any / all of these clubs...because we need them to stay on our fells. Over the last few years financial resources have become low and a couple eg Harwood have nearly folded..and belive you me once they have gone they are GONE. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there is no way English Nature, National Trust Your friendly Grouse and Pheasant Shoots et el would allow any such TERRIBLE development on our fells that they all want to keep us off.
Have Fun.
