2009 Team Comp

Post by brian day »

OK, the spreadsheet is set up and ready to run. All I need now are some team names to make it look a little better.
We've got 8 teams this year, 1 more than last year, lets hope for a good year and a great competition.
Please post Team names below.
I've got,
Monty Pythons Flying Circus for Ronnie, Andrew, Brian and Paul
Numero Uno for Alistair, Colin Gary and Bob
Chasing Rainbows for Glenn, Colin K, Chris and myself
See you out there!!!!!

It's hard to believe, 41 views and not 1 team name?
If you don't have a name by Friday, your first scores are halved!

Halved :o

Bill wanted the Luv Rockets again, I wanted the Guys and Doll again Wendy didn't want the Luv Rockets neither did I. Tony has come up with the "Bashful Buzzards" so providing our team members don't object we'll go with that. It sounds quite good and there's a sting in the tail too

You've got to watch it to the end tho :)

Goes way back to the canoeing days when I was part of the Scottish Team, 'Rainbow' in the Premier Slalom division. I added the 'Chasing' as it seems appropriate in that we are always chasing the impossible dream. But, what the hell, lets get back to the Happy Van again!

We're getting there.
Only the boringly named;
'Team 7' Dave, Eddie Davis, Lance Greenhaulgh & Neil Smith
and
'Team 5' Dave Hume, Arrif, Anto Baird, Jan Little
Teams 5 & 7 will have their first score halved, unless, (I'm too soft) they meet the extended deadline of Sunday 7pm....No more extensions.
To keep the teams happy that have provided a team name by the first deadline a 5km bonus has been added to your scores.
See you out there!!!!!

OK then - on a religious theme how about "The God Squad". Arrif knows how close I am to our divine creator.

Ron,
The post was on the board for 6 weeks before the draw for people to put there names on, I made sure it was a 'current topic' by adding a new post at least once per week and once every day during the closing week. I also emailed everyone twice about it. Unfortunately people still turned up at the meeting and said 'what about me?'
When I organised the comp I was desperate for names to make up the right numbers for the teams (teams of 4) which I had done prior to the night. I was still left on the night of the draw begging someone else to join the comp to make up a full team, which we eventually did.
I'll book some time on BBC, ITV and Sky next year, put an add in all the National papers, the locals and freebies too.
Sorry, but if I haven't got the name, it doesn't go in the draw. The comp is voluntary not a compulsory event.
If we can get 3 more names, I'll gladly put another team in.
See you out there!!!!!

Brian, you said in one your posts were accepting names on the night of the Jan meeting... (Team comps, Pub - Jan 4th 5.22pm) I was just passing on a members name that was interested because it was looking a bit thin. I was only trying to help so there is no need to get sarcastic !
