O.L.C. HELP

After years of trying and thousands of attempts I can now finally make an I G C file and post my flights on tinternet.
But can someone please explain how the scoring system works,
in particular when is a triangle not a triangle.For some reason this flight

which was just a gentle float up and down the coast was mrked as a triangle with all the extra brownie points 2 plus 2 =22 or whatever where as this flight,

which was a much better flight and looks far more like a triangle isnt.

Also my g.p.s. doesnt store altitude information can anyone tell me does the o.l.c .scoring system give extra marks for altitude gain etc
