BCC comp at last!

Post by AlastairW »

At last!

Two days flying in the British club championship, with tasks set on both Saturday and Sunday!

Saturdays task was to fly to Hasty Bank, then back to Cringle, and Open Distance from there. Having discussed distances flown with the other teams it looks like we might have had the individual winner of the days task, in the form of Neil Smith!

A grand evening was had at the North Yorks pie and peas supper, with much Old peculiar consumed by some club members......

Sundays task was simpler.... fly to the trig point on Cringle, then open distance. The conditions were not good however, ther skies clagged in until after 1, and then very light winds, making it unsoarable on the front. It was a question of waiting for a thermal to come through, climbing in the thermal and trying your best with what you got.

Ron Don made an excellent stab at winning the £50 prize for longest flight, and Neil burnt of last nights excess by walking all the way up onto Cringle. The rest of us fumed with frustration.

An excellent fun weekend, and at last a chance to compete!

PS COULD ALL MEMBERS OF TODAYS TEAM PLEASE LET ME HAVE THE DETAILS OF THEIR FLIGHTS, SO I CAN SUBMIT THEM TO THE DALES CLUB
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........
