Good Bank Holiday Weekend

Well, three flyable days in a row on a Bank Holiday Weekend, must be some kind of record. Couldn't get out saturday but I understand hang gliders were flying at Tailbridge, though the wind was top end. Sunday was very busy at Wether Fell, both hang gliders and paragliders and everyone seemed to be having a good time with several going XC. John Wallis did about 20 miles on his hang glider, but he was beaten by a paraglider who got to Wetherby. As usual the ones who were there early got the best of it. I heard some were flying Model Ridge as well. After the crowds on Sunday I was surprised to arrive at Wether to find one lone hang glider, but a few paragliders turned up eventually. It was a bit grey and light at first but got nicely thermic later on when the sun came out. Then the wind picked up and the paragliders had to pull the ears on with most landing at the bottom of the slope.
