Down under.
Well I’m off to Aus tomorrow.
Heading for Manilla NSW where the flying is reported to be quite good. I’ve booked into the Royal Hotel for two weeks, then I’ve got another two weeks unplanned, I’ll just see how it goes but I’d like to fly some of the coastal sites.
If anyone would like to get in touch, while I’m out there I’ll have an Australian mobile number from Monday, from the uk - 0061 467761FOUR72. Australia is 11 hours ahead of the uk.
I also hope to post a bit more here and some tracklogs as I go along.

First day
Cautious first day in Manilla, with possible storms forecast for later I got off soon as possible. Conditions were quite nice in the air which was good given the lack of flying lately. I flew for about an hour, there was some development around so I pushed out towards the main road and landed. As it turned out the area around takeoff was good till about four so I could have had some more but was happy with the first day. Similar forecast tomorrow and storms on Thursday, so planning on sharp start tomorrow.
Saw som kangaroos around takeoff, I know that's not unusual for Aus but I was impressed all the same, mind you though they could jump a canny way they couldn't fly. Hope to get some photos thamora.
The link below who's the trace from my spot - I think it works.

Humph
The weather is not what I'd hoped for or expected, rain yesterday and today ha meant no flying, forecast is better for tomorrow though so fingers crossed.
Thanks for the info about the Moyes factory Ron, I'm about 200 mile NW of Sydney at the mo but may end up down that way. I've got Woody's number and will give him a call at this evening.
Am staying at the Royal Hotel also known as Vic and Tom's, lovely folks.

Hello Chris
Was up in the Cheviots yesterday, Wed. Jan 27th. The sky began to get darker and darker with a rainbow shining from inside out with bolts of lightning coming from it, then it started to rain, I don't think I have seen such heavy rain before.
The streams turned to rivers, the rivers were spilling over their banks, the water got into the houses on the low road South into Wooler next to the garage. The roads around Wooler where under water, nice.
So I think you might be in the right place just now.
Have a great time. Rondon

Retrieve was ticketyboo, while waiting by the side of the road, if they are going the other way, people stop and give you beer. From landing to back in the bar in just over two hours. Only 50k cos I ran out of brave pills.
