New member saying hello

Post by phil »

Hello and thanks for letting me join your club. I live in Houghton le Spring and work from home for last 25 years repairing amplifiers for bands and artists. I did my CP with Northern paragliding about six years ago and was hooked from my first flight . Unfortunately i had to stop flying about three years ago mainly due to financial reasons and tried various interests to try and take the place of paragliding .
Anyway here i am so you can see how that turned out!
I only managed about 10 hours flying in three years as most of my flights were very short apart from my last one at wetherfell where i discovered thermals .Amazing!
I now have all new gear unflown and seeing as how its best not to change more than one thing at a time when flying i was really wanting to fly a familiar site like Tailbridge should i stick to that or do you think east hill would be ok ? Or what do you suggest?
I hope the club coaches will be able to pass on there wisdom to me and anybody with any constructive advice please speak up if i am doing something that needs correcting or that i can learn from i will not take offense.
Welll i have rambled on enough now so i look forward to seeing you soon i hope . I will be flying a green blue and white Nova Susi so look out for me on the hill and in the air and come and say hello.

Cheers . Phil

Hi Phil keep an eye on the forum and check where people are flying make yourself know and you will get all the help you need. There's some great guys in this club and they will give you good advice. East hill is a great training site especially this time of year with all the sea breezes.

Cheers

Hi Phil and welcome aboard.

One word of advise.......you listening?....... follow the forum and pester everyone for info. Generally we're a good bunch and we all love talking about paragliding but few will phone you up to tell you it's flyable; you need to pester everyone, me included.

John and Ali thanks for that reassuring reply ,its always a bit uneasy till you know people and feel a lot easier now. I have been checking the forum for at least the past year and will keep an eye out for east hill hopefully soon.
I have a 2 meter radio does the club have a common frequency?

Thanks again . Phil
